Mike Shaw, PEng, Chairman - TechVivo

 Michael (Mike) is currently Vice President, LUMA Energy, a division of ATCO.  Responsible for maintaining a strong and collaborative relationship between LUMA & PREPA to ensure the successful Transition and Transformation of the Puerto Rico Electric System. Executive Responsibilities include LUMA’s Health & Safety, Environment, Emergency Preparedness, Information Technology, Operating Technology and Cyber Security  

Mike holds a BSc in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Calgary.  He is a member of APEGA and currently serves on the Board of the Calgary Chamber, as well as the Board of Drake Landing Company, which owns and operates the energy system for the Drake Landing Solar Community in Okotoks, Alberta

Wayne Chodzicki, FCA ICD.D, Treasurer -TechVivo

Wayne is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants (FCA) and holds his designation from the Institute of Corporate Directors (ICD.D). Wayne recently was KPMG’s Global Head of Oil and Gas and of KPMG’s Global Energy Institutes and held many high-profile board positions, including the Chair of the Energy Council of Canada 2012-13 (Past-Chair and member of the Executive Committee), Chair Heritage Park Society 2009-11 (currently member of the Heritage Park Foundation). After retirement from KPMG, Wayne held positions of CEO of an energy service company and CFO of an energy resources company.

Michael has recently retired from the Bennett Jones partnership, where he was a leader in the National Information Technology, Cybersecurity, and Intellectual Property (Patents and licensing) practices. He is also a past director and chair of Calgary Technologies Inc. and Innovate Calgary, and can provide help to TechVivo in technology, security, privacy, IT industry and legal arenas. Michael is also a Fellow of the Intellectual Property Institute of Canada. His 4 decade plus practice focused on Information Technology, Intellectual Property, the innovation sector and data stewardship and governance, as well as Intellectual Property law and cybersecurity matters. Michael has written and taught extensively on these topics.

 

Recognition: Michael has been ranked and rated as a top lawyer and patent agent by various publications and surveys nationally and internationally, with particular mention of Intellectual Property and Information Technology and Data Protection.

Ron is a Senior Instructor Emeritus with the Business Technology Management Area of the Haskayne School of Business. Ron brings his 55+ years of experience working with computer-supported information systems within educational institutions, civic government and private sector organizations to his technology leadership role with TechVivo. His teaching focussed on information technology management, leadership development and innovation in undergraduate, graduate and executive programs. Ron continues to be active with the CIO Association of Canada, Calgary Chapter and he has served as an external reviewer with Alberta Innovates.

Susan is currently the CEO of OpenGate Properties Inc., visionary and developer of the 5 Bottom Line used in forward thinking of the TwinHills Cyber Wellness Town which is also applicable to TechVivo’s integrated A.I. applications.  Known as a change agent and collaborative promoter of the best win-win situations, Susan has built many successful companies while concurrently bringing about betterment for others in small to large businesses aligned with her initiatives. She has served on both regulatory boards, such as the Alberta Natural Resources Conservation Board to non-profit boards such as Habitat for Humanity and other national and provincial industry and special interest boards.

Susan Nelson, BA, MA, Past Chairman -TechVivo  

Dieter’s role with Convergint Technologies, as either Tech Project Innovation Manager for companies like Amazon etc or Business Development Manager, which reinforces his highly adept global scope of technologically advanced Smart Building applications and interconnections. Dieter has a recognized passion for creating technology innovative solutions in his 20 years previous experience with Siemens. Dieter is attuned and familiar with the ever-changing Tech Best practices, trends and marketplace applications.
